Tawanna Williams
Tawanna Williams is a certified Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging practitioner who is the owner and lead consultant at Race Equity Solutions-specializing in policy, organizational structure, and organizational culture overhauls. Tawanna developed, implemented, and monitors The Children Heart Foundation's DEI initiatives, policies, and strategic plan alongside Sally Powers. She is an active CHD and rare disease advocate who is a Board of Director for The Children’s Heart Foundation in addition to holding other Board of Director positions in the congenital heart not for profit sector. Additionally, Tawanna serves on the National Steering Committee for the nonprofit One Institution- a nonpartisan civic enterprise that improves public understanding of social justice movements and political discourse. Tawanna is a freelance speaker, writer, certified professional coach, and advocate for racial disparity and congenital heart defects.
Tawanna’s journey into CHD advocacy began when she first became a parent of a daughter who was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.
